Jordan signs for Beechdean Aston Martin British GT team

Reigning British GT GT3 and GT4 champions Beechdean AMR will return to the British GT championship in 2016 with promising young talents of Jordan Albert and his team mate Jack Bartholomew in the squads GT4.

With the British GT GT4 competition continuing to grow year on year, the 2016 grid is expected to be the championships biggest yet. Following on from two previous successful young driver partnerships, culminating in both the 2014 and 2015 outright GT4 titles, the Beechdean Aston Martin Racing team will field an updated Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car for the single seater graduates.

Silverstone based Jordan Albert has enjoyed two successful years in the British GT supporting series BRDC F4, taking 2 wins and 10 podiums from his time in the series. The 19 year old has tested the championship winning Beechdean AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car in October, showing great potential before his debut season in the countries premier GT championship.

Jordan Albert said, “I’m extremely happy to be joining the Beechdean AMR team and racing in the British GT championship in 2016, they’re proven Championship winners and with their support I’m aiming to be competitive right from the first round. I have tested the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 car and immediately felt comfortable. As it is my first season in a GT car it’s going to be a challenging year ahead but I am fully focused on the task. After racing for two years in single seaters I feel the time is right to make the switch to GT racing and have been working very hard to make this happen. I am also very happy to be racing alongside Jack Bartholomew, we raced against each other this year in the BRDC F4 championship and get on very well, I think we will make a very competitive partnership”.

With Aston Martin Racing holding such a strong position in GT motorsport, this is the ideal environment for Jordan to expand his horizons and improve on his already formidable talents inside a proven, winning team. 2016 promises a lot, is expecting a lot, we won’t find Jordan Albert waiting.

Albert just misses podium on final weekend of BRDC F4 Season

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit hosted the final race meeting of the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship season over the weekend, 26th/27th September, where SWR driver Jordan Albert wrapped-up a top six finish in the title standings and only just missed out on adding to his 2015 podium tally.

Ending the opening contest on Saturday with fifth position, the British racer challenged hard for the podium in the second encounter on Sunday morning but had to settle for a fourth place finish just a few tenths of a second shy of the rostrum. He then added seventh in race three to consolidate his placing in the championship’s top half dozen for the race winning Chipping Norton team.

Donington disappointments build character

Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship driver Jordan Albert experienced something of a character building event at Donington Park over the weekend, 12th/13th September, with the SWR driver encountering a less than straightforward penultimate race meeting of the 2015 season.

Race two on Sunday morning, round 20, held the most promise for the Chipping Norton squad with multiple race winner Albert beginning the contest from pole position. Unfortunately, though, he was adjudged by officials to have fractionally jumped the start and instead had to settle for eighth place after the application of a time penalty.

Albert retains sixth after a mixed Snetterton weekend

Jordan Albert and Chipping Norton’s SWR departed Snetterton 300 Circuit on Sunday, 23rd August, somewhat disappointed with the outcome of the weekend’s Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship action after front-running testing pace wasn’t able to be translated into expected podium challenges.

During the build-up to the sixth event of the year, Jordan Albert delivered eye-catching pace in the officially timed practice sessions on Thursday and Friday – the Briton topping the times in sessions two and three on the opening day of testing before consistently running in the top five on day two.

Albert’s strong performance on Friday was certainly noteworthy, having been involved in a huge crash on day one which resulted in a heavily damaged car and much needed physio. Such was the extent of the damage, the car couldn’t be repaired at the circuit so the team travelled back to the Oxfordshire HQ overnight to collect the spare chassis in readiness for day two.

Brands Hatch brings a second victory

Series front-runner Jordan Albert raced to his second victory of the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship season at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit on Sunday, 2nd August, to help keep his and the SWR team’s title hopes alive with nine races remaining in the current campaign.

Adding to the excellent win he claimed during the first event of the season at Oulton Park in April, the rapid 18-year-old made the most of his front row start in race two of the weekend, round 14, to earn a richly deserved return to the top step of the BRDC F4 podium for the Chipping Norton squad.

With pole-starter Chris Mealin clearly jumping the start, maintaining second position on the road during the early laps was Albert’s primary objective. When race officials served Mealin with a 10 second time penalty several laps into the contest, the win was there for the taking and the SWR driver duly delivered.
